Janet “JJ” Snellbaker RYT-500, E-RYT 200

JJ found yoga later in life. She came to yoga when she was running as a way to balance all the impact on her joints and as a way of recovery. She stayed after she stopped running.

When her dad passed away in 2020, yoga became a lifeline and more than a physical practice. Yoga gave her grief a place to go and her mat became a place of peace, presence as well as a sanctuary.

In 2021 there was a strong pull to give back. She signed up for her first 200HR Yoga Teacher Training through Life Power and it cracked her open and gave her a sense of purpose.

She has gone on to complete her 300HR YTT, become certified in Yin, Restorative, Chair, Nidra and Thai Bodywork and has over 1500 teacher hours.

Playfully aging, as she refers to her changing practice. As the body changes, so does the practice. She brings that acceptance to her students. Because our practice changes, challenges become opportunities. Those opportunities to meet her students with compassion, patience and an open heart and to invite them to meet themselves exactly where they are in the moment. She firmly believes yoga is for everybody and EVERY BODY.

She is a lifelong student of yoga. She is currently in another 200HR YTT and learning about adaptive yoga. She says teaching yoga is an honest expression of her Dharma, right living.
