Mindy
Piland
Hello. I am Mindy Piland.
I
am a warm hearted, free spirited, high energy
person. Yoga has completely changed my life. Several
years ago after suffering from a serious health
issue, stresses of family Life, and never ending
life challenges, I began to practice yoga. I was
so profoundly affected by the rehabilitative components
of Yoga, that I decided to complete teacher training
and open my own studio.
I love teaching yoga. I train, teach, consult,
and continue learning about the health and wellness
industry. I collaborate with local chiropractors
and other alternative health care professionals
to bring to you the best possible solutions for
your well being.
I focus on your mental and physical performance
edge. I personalize my private instruction to
accommodate you. My instruction provides a combination
of energetic flow postures with calming relaxation
and breathe techniques.
Join me and take that next step to better health.
Love and Light... Mindy
Brenda Hilgartner
While
training for a triathlon and recovering from many
sports injuries, Brenda discovered Mindy’s
yoga studio and was hooked. Since that time, she
has continued to explore many different styles
of yoga but remains committed to power yoga. Once
certified through the American College of Sports
Medicine, Idea Foundation and the American Council
of Exercise as a personal trainer, Brenda is excited
to return to her roots as a fitness promoter and
teacher. Brenda’s post graduate work in
Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, and Fitness
for Athletes will help provide a foundation to
form a powerful class designed to join the muscle
toning of weight training with the flexibility
and peacefulness of yoga. She is very excited
to continue to grow in her yoga practice and hopes
to inspire her students to do the same!

Faith Cooper
I am a true native of Loudoun
County. I have studied ballet for most of my life.
In the early 1990's I discovered yoga and transitioned
quickly into an equally demanding discipline where
intelligent (and non-destructive) movements were
emphasized. I started practicing to a borrowed
set of Yoga DVDs with Patricia Waldron and Rodney
Yee. Denise Moore had been teaching Integral yoga
at the beautiful wide-open, top floor studio space
behind Tuscarora's in Leesburg. I followed her
to many locations, for more of her careful and
detailed Integral yoga style of teaching. As my
hunger to learn more and go deeper into the study
of this ancient wisdom the Health Advantage studio
in Herndon was recommended. My main teacher there
was Doug Keller from whom I learned the nitty-gritty
of Anusara yoga: an even more detailed, intelligent,
safe and wholistic approach to the ancient practice
of Hatha Yoga founded by John Friend.
I believe that the physical practice
of a sport or discipline demands first, attention
to one's own body. Knowledge and awareness of
one's abilities, and limitations, with respect
for injuries and attention to how the asanas,
poses, can be modified is crucial for each student
to learn that the practice of yoga can benefit
anyone! As with so many other aspects of life
I feel balance is one of the most important goals
we should seek for our lives.
I am excited for the opportunity
to assist your growth both physically, and experientially:
to find the complementary stillness from which
growth actually begins.
Bana Yahnke
Bana
Yahnke, RYT200, began practicing yoga a year ago
at home after realizing that her daily routine
was constantly go...go...go and juggling a home,
husband, career, and masters degree was taking
a toll on her mind- body balance.
Bana hopes to give the gift of yoga to all and
to raise awareness of the importance of mind-body
balance. She teaches in her own flow (vinyasa)
style, promoting core strength, balance, and flexibility.
Besides doing yoga, Bana is a Director of Marketing
& Membership for a nonprofit student organization.
She enjoys her 3-4 day a week strength training
routine and loves to shop. |
